Over the past two decades, The Daniels Corporation has evolved into one of Canada’s foremost builder-developers, with a reputation for quality and integrity that has been reflected in the wide range of residential communities the company has created.

Company founder and Chairman John Daniels has been a leader in the North American building industry for the past 50 years. As Chairman of The Cadillac Fairview Development Corporation, Daniels was instrumental in the creation of such Toronto landmarks as the Eaton Centre and the Toronto-Dominion Centre. He was also the moving force behind the ‘New Town’ of Erin Mills, the largest master planned community in North America, before founding The Daniels Corporation in 1982.

Under the direction of a dynamic management team, Daniels has developed and built over 18,000 homes and apartments in a diverse range of communities throughout the Greater Toronto Area. In the process, the company has been honoured with numerous industry awards including the prestigious “High Rise Builder of the Year” award by the TARION arranty Corporation, as well as being named the first recipient of the coveted “Home Builder of the Year” award by the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD).

Other accolades have been garnered by the communities themselves. The skyline-enhancing NY Towers Community at Bayview and Sheppard was named “Community of the Year” by BILD. Daniels has also changed the face of Mississauga’s City Centre with the inspired architecture of No. 1 City Centre and The Capital Condominiums, both recipients of the “Mississauga Urban Design Award of Excellence”. Most recently, Daniels was presented with the coveted Energy Star ® “Builder of the Year” award by EnerQuality Corporation for their energy efficient FirstHomeTM Community in Erin Mills.

Downtown in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, Daniels has partnered with renowned filmmaker Ivan Reitman to build Bell Lightbox, the new home of the Toronto International Film Festival Group. Festival Tower, the elegant residential tower that will rise above Bell Lightbox, will become an international destination celebrating the world of film 52 weeks a year.

The company was also chosen to partner with Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) to re-develop the first phase of Regent Park in downtown Toronto. Daniels shares TCHC’s vision of creating a healthy, sustainable community and looks forward to bringing new vitality to the whole of the downtown east area.
